• The Ethernet card in the IQ 100 Series meter can be locally or remotely congured using a Telnet
connection over the network.
• The conguration parameters can be changed at any time and are retained when the meter is not
powered up. After the conguration has been changed and saved, the Ethernet card performs a Reset.
• Only one person at a time should be logged into the network port used for setting up the meter. This
eliminates the possibility of several people trying to congure the Ethernet interface simultaneously.
• It is possible to reset the Ethernet card to its default values. See the procedure on the next page.
Conguring the IQ 100 Series Meter’s Ethernet Connection using Windows XP© on the Host Computer
Establish a Telnet connection on port 9999. Follow these steps:
1. From the Windows Start menu, click Run and type ‘cmd’.
2. Click the OK button to bring up the Windows’ Command Prompt window.
3. In the Command Prompt window, type: “telnet 10.0.0.1 9999” and press the Enter key.
NOTE: Make sure there is a space between the IP address and 9999.
When the Telnet connection is established you will see a message similar to the example shown
below.
4. To proceed to Setup Mode press Enter again. You will see a screen similar to the one shown below.
5. Change ONLY the parameters in group 1. To do so:
a. Type number “1.”
b. Once group 1 is selected, the individual parameters display for editing. Either:
• Enter a new parameter if a change is required.
• Press Enter to proceed to the next parameter without changing the current setting.
IMPORTANT! Settings 2, 3, and 4 MUST have the default values shown above.
