IMPORTANT: Clean the spindle taper (A) Fig. 13 and
the tapered hole in the chuck (B) so that they have no
grease, lacquer. or rust preventive coatings.
NOTE: Household oven cleaner can effectively remove
any substance from the spindle and chuck. Carefully
follow the manufacturer's safety rules.
IMPORTANT: Open the chuck jaws as wide as possible
by turning the chuck sleeve (C) Fig.14.
11. Place the chuck (C) Fig. 14 on the taper of the
spindle and tap it with a rubber hammer (D) or a
block of wood and hammer.
NEVER drive the chuck on the spindle
with a metal hammer.
7. Thread the clamp handle stud (M) Fig. 9 in the hole in the rear of the table bracket.
8. Place the drill press head (N) Fig. 10 on the column as far as it will go.
9. Align the head (A) Fig. 11 with the table (B) and the
base (C). Tighten the two head-locking screws (O)
Fig. 10 with the supplied hex wrench.
10. Thread the three handles (P) Fig. 12 in the three tapped holes located in the pinion shaft.
